“I will sing of your love and justice; to you, Lord , I will sing praise. I will be careful to lead a blameless life— when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.” Psalm 101:1-2
Psalm 101 is a Psalm of David.
David loved to praise and worship God and especially enjoyed doing this through song. He says here, he will sing of God’s love and justice with songs of praise. This song, however, is only part of his worship. He spends the rest of the Psalm sighting ways he intends to worship God with his life!
First off, he states that he’ll be careful to lead a blameless life and out of a blameless heart. This attitude had not always been the case with David. His heart had led him astray and he fell into a dark period of sin, for which he later repented, after feeling the pain of being separated from God. After repenting, David’s intention was to never fall into sin again! He wanted his worship to include every part of his life!
Often as humans, we try to limit our worship of God and our time spent with God to a particular day of the week or event. God doesn’t want our heart and allegiance only on Sunday-He wants our heart each day of our lives. Like David, we need to dedicate our lives to the worship of God. God wants us to love Him EVERYDAY of the week.
Jesus said it like this, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
(Matthew 22:37)
Give Him your heart everyday. Think about it!
