“Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the ground, and lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am Yahweh; those who put their hope in Me will not be put to shame.” Isaiah 49:23
Many, many things were promised to thr Nation of Israel, God’s chosen people. Many things are promised to us, His Church. The fulfillment of these prophecies of Isaiah the prophet are seen coming true in the Book of Revelation as Jesus makes “all things new”-A New Temple, built in a New Jerusalem comig down out of a New Heaven onto a New Earth! But to me, the best part of this promise lies at the end of the verse and is meant for whoever will accept it: “Then you will know that I am Yahweh; those who put their hope in Me will not be put to shame.” What a beautiful promise! All day long, every day, our enemy, the devil comes at us to steal from us, kill us and destroy us. Thankfully, in addition to His full armour (Ephesians 6:10-17), God’s given us many promises in His Word, including this one-those who put their hope in Me will not be put to shame! God is on our side! (Romans 8:31)God always has our backs! God loves us and calls us His friends! (John 15:5) So, we who put our trust in Him, will not be put to shame! Israel was receiving this word because they had turned their backs on God. Yet He forgave, He restored and He didn’t shame them and promised they’d not be put to shame! That promise can be ours today when we place our trust in Him! Think about it!
