“Rise up, Lord God! Lift up Your hand. Do not forget the afflicted. . . .
The helpless entrusts himself to You; You are a helper of the fatherless. The Lord is King forever and ever; the nations will perish from His land. Lord , You have heard the desire of the humble; You will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully” Psalms 10:12, 14-14, 16-17
God defends the helpless-like those in this chapter. Consistantly thru Scripture, He describes Himself as a “Father to the Fatherless and a Husband to the Husbandless”. The Psalmiat here asks God to rise up (sit up, stand up, sit up), and act on the behalf of the oppressed. He reminds God that the helpless are counting on Him to Father them!
In an act of praise, in addition to finishing his prayer, the psalm writer proclaims that “God is the King forever-He’ll outlast all the natIons of the earth, yet He (God) has listened to the cry of the humble, gives them (the humble) strength of heart and listens carefully to their cries!
What a privilage we have as believers! Our Father-our Daddy, is the King of the universe, yet cares for each of us individually and has the time to listen to and answer our requests!
Never hesitate to call out to God! He’s waiting for the opportunity to answer your cry!
Think about it!
