TAKE 5–SEPTEMBER 18, 2017

Deuteronomy28:13-14 “The Lord will
make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward if you listen to the Lord your God’s commands I am giving you today and are careful to follow them. Do not turn aside to the right or the left from
all the things I am commanding you today, and do not go after other gods to worship them.”

The writer of this book of history, Deuteronomy, assures the new nation of Israel that God’s continual favor and uninterrupted blessings would be theirs if they lived in obedience to God. In the New Testiment, under grace rather that Law, this would amount to living for God first and others 2nd (Matthew 22:36-40), and showing our love and allegiance for God by showing our love for one another. (John 13:34-35).

I personally believe this Biblical principal works it differently in different believers, but the principal itself stands. I believe that among believers, there is a 8-10% about class of intercessors or spiritual warriors, patriots, if you will who fought on behalf of the rest of the Body of Christ.

There’s a list of them in Hebrews 11. They do this often at significant personal cost, similar to how our servicemen and women do. They, like the Hebrews 11 list, although they “process the land” For the benefit of others (just like the Nation of Israel did here in Deuteronomy-they were promised blessings but they had to pocess the land) don’t always get to personally enjoy all of the blessings that they recieve on behalf the rest of the Body of Christ (Jesus, early deciples and Apostle Paul are prime
examples). Then there’s a class of beneficiaries. They are the 80% or the rest of the Body and the sons/daughters of these spiritual Patriots who continue to enjoy God’s blessings thru out their lives while others fight on their behalf. Then there are those who lag behind angery, despite the blessings of God. ALL SAID, EVERY CLASS OF BLESSED BELIEVERS IS FAR better of than those who WILLFULY CHOOSE AGAINST GOD. This list in verses 15-68, show what happens when we willingly choose AGAINST living in God’s blessings and bring the fallen world’s curses upon ourselves. This could be bad!

Make the choice today, to be blessed!

Think about it!
