“So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit.”

Ephesians 2:19‭-‬22

Paul continues writing that NOW, because of the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, because He has risen from the dead & is seated in the Heavens next to God the Father, because God considers us who are His followers to literally be in Him, we have been accepted into His forever family, no longer considered to be foreigners, but fellow Heavenly citizens who are also presently seated, IN CHRIST, next to God the Father! Because of ALL THIS, we’re not considered to be strangers anymore, but citizens who have equal access to God the Father!

We are members of God’s family! We literally are part of the house God is building for Himself- a house where He’s the head & can dwell IN His people! A house of worship, where He lives permanently & other where people can come & meet Him!

God’s house is certainly “up to code”! It’s built on the sure foundation that the apostles, Jesus’ original disciples and the prophets, like Isaiah, Jeremiah & Elijah from the Old Testament, with Jesus Christ Himself being the stable & sure Cornerstone, bearing the weight of the whole house, causing it to be solid & stable. All of us, like building blocks, being built, one generation of disciples after another, forming Temple or worship center where God, through Holy Spirit LIVES! This is what it means to be IN CHRIST! This is what it means to be the BODY of Christ. We, as His people LITERALLY carry HIM to the world who despritely needs Him! We are absolutely a part of something bigger than ourselves!
