“After Herod died, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, “Get up! Take the child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, because those who sought the child’s life are dead.” So he got up, took the child and His mother, and entered the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And being warned in a dream, he withdrew to the region of Galilee. Then he went and settled in a town called Nazareth to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets, that He will be called a Nazarene.”
Matthew 2:19-23
Herod later dies so the same angel, presumably Gabriel, came back to Joseph and told him it was time to go home! Joseph, Mary and Jesus returned to Israel. Still being a little nervous that Herod’s son, Archelaus was ruling, Joseph went on to the province of Galilee and settled in a town called Nazareth, fulfilling an obscure little prophecy, found in the apocalyptic writing of a man named Jarome, as well as a collective Hebrew “play-on-words” named “NeTseR” that translates, “branch”, which is used multiple times in the canonized Bible to describe the coming Messiah! Bottom line-God arranged ALL THINGS in Jesus’ life, as well as in history, to fulfill prophecy!
We don’t know a lot about Jesus’ childhood, but we do know that He became strong, Godly, very aware of His Heavenly Father’s working in the world and that He learned His earthly father’s trade (Luke 2:41-52, Mark 6:3).
Jesus grew up as a normal boy for His time, Who abnormally carried the Presence of God into the earth! He was Who He needed to be at just the right time in human history! He’s Who we need for today, over 2,000 years later! He’s was God before He became “God in human flesh-Emmanuel! He’s the same “today, yesterday and forever”! He’s Whom we celebrate at Christmas and Whom the shrepherds praised, the angels rejoiced about, wisemen followed, Joseph protected and Mary pondered! He’s the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Alpha & Omega, the Beginning and the End! He’s over all things, above all things & He’ Who holds the entire universe together! His Name is Jesus, and we celebrate His birthday-His coming near to us today,
SO
Think about it & Happy Birthday Jesus/Merry Christmas!
