“Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”
Matthew 7:7-11
Our pursuit of God should be relentless. When we pray, we should persistently ask and keep asking. In pursuing truth, such as that from God’s Word, we should search, and keep searching. When for our personal lives or understanding God’s will for our family, we should knock and keep knocking. Prayer and seeking God’s not a “one and done” deal. Diligent presidtance and repetition is necessary, just like it is with anything worthwile! Additionally, we don’t need to doubt God’s goodness or love for us if our prayer’s not answered in the first 5 minutes after we pray! He loves us and wants to give us good gifts! If we as people, with an inheritant tendancy to sin and a fallen nature that’s selfish, make good parents and provide good things for the children that we love, HOW MUCH MORE does our kind and good and generous heavenly Father give good gifts to His children? GOD LOVES YOU AND WANTS TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYER, but like any good parent GOD WANTS THE BEST FOR YOU! Think about it and KEEP ASKING!
