“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock.”

For several days now, we’ve looked into what is called Jesus’ “sermon on the mount”. As Jesus concludes this long talk that covers all of Matthew 5, 6 and 7, He says, a wise man or woman will listen to theses teaching and act in such a way that he builds his house or his life upon the ROCK of this sound teaching-a foolish one will not. As with anything, something built on a strong foundation will stand when the storms of life come, that built on an shifting, unsure foundation, such as sand, will not-it will collapse when under pressure.

So, what’s your life built on-truths that are eternal and solid or ideology that changes and proves to be unstable.

As divulged through these three chapters, the only Truth that save us, give us lasting hope, meaning and purpose in life, is Jesus. We can work to be good, display kindness and compassion towards others, do religous duties, practice religious disciplines and still fall short of experiencibg the Kingdom of God! Why? The Kingdom of God has only One King and its not me or you-its Jesus. HE’S the firm foundation. HE’S the Solid Rock. HE’S the Blessings of chapter 5, the Treasure of chapter 6, HE’S the Reward and the Solid Rock of chapter 7. Having a relationship with JESUS, the Creator of the universe, is the ONLY way to lasting peace, hope and eternal security. “All other ground is sinking sand”. Jesus Himself said in chapter 6, “narrow is the gate that leads to life and few are those who find it.” (7:14) This is because He alone is the Way to God (John 14:6).

The secret to entering the Kingdom of Heaven is to know  the King! You can’t by-pass Jesus . . .He’s the Way! You can’t enter apart from Him . . .He’s the King. Come to Jesus today!
