TAKE 5–AUGUST 7

“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:1‭-‬2
Have you ever heard the saying, “they’re so heavenly minded that they’re no earthy good”? Well, I suppose that could be true, if someone truely could talk of nothing but heaven. I believe, however, that the American Church has come to a point where we’re so EARTHLY minded, we’re no HEAVENLY good! Here’s what I mean: often, we as Christions are indistinguishable from the world-we talk like them, we laugh at their jokes, we cheat like they do, and bluntly put, smell of the same sin that they do. As His Church, we often fail to recognize Him as the Head of His Church. We follow people instead of Him. We run the church like a business and engage in the sasme political rhetoric, just like politicians. We often fight among ourselves and mud-sling. What a tragedy, that the Church that Jesus died to save would look more like the world than we do like Him!
May we remember that we’ve been raised from the dead WITH Jesus and that we should set or calibrate our minds on those things that are important to Him-those things that are ETERNAL! Jesus is seated in Heaven at the right hand of God. That’s a reigning position. He’s not defeated, so why are we?
Jesus is seated in Heaven at the right hand of God. He’s interested in the eternal destinies of people, so why aren’t we?
Jesus is seated in Heaven at the right hand of God. He sees the things happening in our world with the panoramic view of His full story, so why don’t we?
We need to pray the song that says, “open up my eyes to the things unseen and break my heart for what breaks Your’s”. We need to be
interested in what Holy Spirit is interested in. Let’s ask Him to calibrate our minds to His and set our sights on heaven and eternity. It will change the way we live.
Think about it!
