“I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.” Ps 40:10
Psalm 40 is a proclaimation of the goodness of God. The Psalmist speaks of what is like to be sinking into a mirey pit and yet to be rescued by God! He speaks of what it’s like to be relentlessly pursued by his enemies, but yet rescued by God! He also talks of what its like to be over run by his own sin, and yet rescued by God! As he proclaims God’s goodness and His salvation, he says “You, O Lord , will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.” David’s counting on God to remain consistant and compassionant with His compassion, mercy and truth and to continue preserving David with those attributes. Here in our focal verse, verse 10, David says in effect, that “I can’t shut up about God’s faithfulness, salvation, mercy and truth. He says he’s not withheld these things in his heart but have spoken of them to his friends, neighbors, EVEN TO THE ENTIRE CONGREGATION!
When we know God’s love and when it become real and personal to us, we won’t be able to hide His Presence in our lives!
Thers no amount of trouble, there’s not a big enough enemy and not even our own sin will be able to “separate us from the live of God that we have in Christ Jesus our Lord ” (Romans 12:38)
Think about it!
