“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jn 16:33 NIV

Jesus is the ultimate overcomer! He overcame death-our greatest enemy. He overcame the curse that sin brought upon us. He overcame sin by not caving to its temptation. He overcame the world and maintained His “Godness”, even as a human.
He tells His discples in this passage that while in this world, we’ll have tribulation, but be cheerful, for I have overcome the world! The amazing truth is that we have everything thru Jesus so when He overcame-we overcame! No matter what the tempation, He provides for us a way to overcome sin. (I Corinthians 10:13)
A Savoir like Jesus is worthy of our worship and our praise! Worshipping during times of temptation and tribulation refocuses our attention off ourselves on back on to Jesus. Joel Houston of Hillsong Church writes, “Even more, worship reminds us not to mistake the presence of such hardships and struggles as the absence of God’s goodness and faithfulness.” God is good and will always be good. Life while on earth can be hard and always will be. Thank God for His Abiding Presence Who has ALREADY OVERCOME for us and thru Whom we overcome! Think about it!
