TAKE 5–NOVEMBER 18, 2016

“Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In You our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and You delivered them. To You they cried out and were saved; in You they trusted and were not put to shame. But You, Lord , do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me.” Psalm 22:3‭-‬5‭, ‬19

Psalm 22 is very prophetic in nature. It forsees the life of Jesus, His sufferings and His triumphs over sin and death.
Yet, the reality of the truth of Psalm 22, was very real to David. He knew and had faced rejection, betrayal, and separation from those that he loved. He understood how it felt to be hunted and almost assassinated. He knew the pain of having sinned grieviously, resulting in personal separation from God.
Most of all, however, he knew the reality of the nearness of God! He knew he could trust God, and literally leaned on God. He knew that God would never leave or forsake him. And he knew he was loved by God no matter what. Reality is, that David KNEW God! He didn’t just know human theories about Him or by reading about Him – he KNEW Him personally, intimately and experientially. David had known God since he was young. His mother had obviously instilled a love for God within him because he says to God, “Yet You brought me out of the womb; You made me trust in You, even at my motherʼs breast. From birth I was cast on You; from my motherʼs womb You have been my God.” (Psalm 22:9‭-‬10) David had trusted God to bring him through multiple situations that appeared impossible! David knew he could count on God’s goodness, grace and mercy to rescue him. DAVID KNEW GOD!
Do you know God? You can know Him today! Think about it!
