“Then all men will fear, And they will declare the work of God, And will consider what He has done. The righteous man will be glad in the Lord and will take refuge in Him; And all the upright in heart will glory.”
Psalms 64:9-10
David served a big God! From the childhood triumphs of singing to God on a serene, starry night while his sheep grazed on a grassy slope to the moment he, as a boy, supernaturally had the courage and strengh to kill a lion or a bear that came from out of the darkness and threatened his sleep, he was a little boy, empowered by a big God!
Then there was the time when as a tween or young teen he took food and supplies to his brothers on the battle field, only to find a 10 foot, brawney giant challenging the army of Israel to a one on one dual. No one was brave enough or crazy enough to face the giant except for David, who killed him with the same small weapons and the same big faith he’d used to kill the lion and bear! David had a BIG GOD!
Later in life, David had experienced leading his army to completely obliterating their opposing enemies to running and hiding from enemies he didnt want to have to kill, all by the wisdom, courage and strength of his BIG God!
His God was so big and his mouth was so big in giving credit to God that he wrote that ALL MEN will see what God has done and think about it but that the righteous would not only see God’s power and strength, but would rest in it, bank on it and impliment it into their own lives! He also wrote that all of the UPRIGHT in heart, would glory in such a God!
So, which group are you in today-those who only see and are amazed by what God has done or those who have taken God home with them, to work with them and to battle with them, and who know first hand, the victory, power and glory of serving a BIG GOD? I don’t know about you, but I want to be in the BIG GOD group and make God MY refuge!
Think about it!
