TAKE 5–JANUARY 21, 2017

“Praise the Lord , my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. The Lord wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.” Psalm 104:1‭-‬3

While there was no conclusive evidence of this, most Bible scholars agree that David probably wrote Psalm 104. David paints a beautiful word picture with the language that he uses to describe Glory of God.

David begins this psalm with the familiar, “bless the Lord, oh my soul”. By this he means, “I will worship God everything that is within me- I will praise Him with all that I am!” Additionally, he proclaims here that God is very personal to him-he calls Him “the Lord, MY God”.

David goes on to paint a beautiful picture with God, clothed in splendor, majesty and light, stretching the Heavenly sky out like a simple camping tent, because compared to the vastness of of His glory – that’s all it really is, as it lights up the water with its brilliance!

The size of what we call the heavens is so small compared to Him in His glory, that the clouds are described as His chariot!

What an awesome, glorious God we worship!

Think about it!
