“How happy is the one You choose and bring near to live in Your courts! We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple.” Psalms 65:4
What satisfies you? Your spouse, kids, family or friends? Your job, money or career? Your home, car or bank account? Food? A party with drinks and drugs? What really l, really satisfies you?
David, author of this psalm, had lived through a lot in his life. He was rich and had everything, yet had started as a mere shepherd-boy with nothing but a harp. He had experienced huge successes as well as humiliating defeats. As he grew older and writes this Psalm about how God cares for the earth, he stops and makes a wonderful observation: the people who are truely happy and satisfied and blessed are those who live in God’s presence!
He writes, “We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, the holiness of Your temple”.
God’s Presence satisfies! Godls Presence completes us! David knew the life principle that the “know God is to know peace”.
God’s Word offers many promises for our lives concerning peace and satisfaction. Isaiah 26:3 says that “You (God) will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You.” Psalm 103:5 says, “He satisfies you with goodness; your youth is renewed like the eagle.” God’s peace is mind-blowing and amazing and beyond comprehending. (Phil. 4:7–“And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”)
Are you lacking satisfaction today. Come into God’s presence by calling out to Him today. Find your satisfaction in His Presence!
