Psalm 63:1 “O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water.”
GOD IS PERSONAL! The song writer here called God, his God. His own God. He says, EARLY I will seek God. EARLY EVERY day. EARLY in life’s processes. EARLY, when troubles come – I will seek You (God) first! My soul – my life- my self THIRSTS for God! My flesh LONGS for you. Here’s what the ancient song writer knew: GOD WAS THE AMSWER. FOR HIS SOUL, FOR HIS FLESH–GOD SATISFIES! We spend large parts of our lives SEARCHING, LONGING to satisfy our hearts, minds and passions in everything BUT GOD! We try sports, keeping busy, work, relationships, drugs and all kinds of addictions trying to drowned out our longing and thirst for God. The song writer says “EARLY WILL I SEEK YOU, in a dry and thirsty land. The world around us is dry and desolate – like a desert. ONLY JESUS SATISFIES!
Think about it!
