“Some Greeks who had come to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration paid a visit to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee. They said, “Sir, we want to meet Jesus. Philip told Andrew about it, and they went
together to ask Jesus.”
John 12:20- 22
John, in his account of the Life of Jesus in his gospel, “John”, has the advantage of being an old man whose had a chance to think about and process the Life of Jesus before writing about it. Here, he tells of a group of Greeks who had come to the Passover feast at the temple in Jerusalem.
Now I believe that John intentionally tells us about these Greeks and about how Philip led them to Andrew, who, in turn, led them to Jesus! Now bringing people to Jesus was something Andrew did well! Check out John 1:41-42 when Andrew first saw Jesus, this was his response: “Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). Then Andrew brought Philip to meet Jesus . . .”
Andrew was always bringing people to Jesus!
So in this case, the Greeks knew Philip, who introduced them to Andrew, who brings them to Jesus. All of this from a simple request from these guys wanting to meet Jesus!
Believe it or not, in all of our lives there’s someone who actually wants to meet the Jesus that we know. Do we run from this and deny God the opportunity to move thru us to introduce others to our Lord? Do we bring people to our Jesus? Even if we don’t have life’s answers, He certainty does! As a freind, introduce your friends to Him, our Truest Friend!
Think about it!
