Take 5-June 3, 2019

“When the wicked die, their hopes die with them, for they rely on their own feeble strength. The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.”
Proverbs 11:7‭-‬8

What a hopeless sounding statement: “When the wicked die, their hopes die with them . . .” As believers, we should thank God for the fundemental truth of processing eternal life! Lived correctly, believer’s-equel to what these passages call “godly” lives can positively impact eternity with every decision, every hope and every dream! We are eternal beings living in and for eternity! The problem with most of us is our preception of etetnal life- many of us believe that eternal life begins when we die and enter heaven. The reality is that prior to Salvation, we are all dead anyway. Eph 2:1 says, we “were once dead in our trespasses and sins”. When we are born again (John 3:3), eternal life starts because LIFE STARTS! Consequently, what we do from that point on, we do for eternity! To the contrary, when the ungodly die, so do their hopes and dreams. Vs 7 adds, because “they rely on their own feeble strength.” As strong as we are, our strength is small and feeble compared to God’s!

Solomon accentuates his point by concluding that “The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.” He again is overstating the fact that life with God, as opposed to life without him is more productive and longlasting and with the benefit of knowing that the Creator of the universe HAS YOUR BACK!

The Apostle Paul put it plainly in Rom 8:31″What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” GOD IS ON OUR SIDE-OUR WIN IS SURE!

Think about it!
