“Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.”  Ephesians 6:13-14

So while Paul describes the kind of warfare or fight of Christian is involved in-one not against people, in other words, flesh & blood, rather one that’s against “evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (vs 12), he tells us “to put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil” (vs 11). The end result is that in so doing, we’ll, ” after the battle . . . still be standing firm ” (vs 12).

He then begins describing the armor!

1. Belt of truth. A belt is one of the last thing any of us put on when we dress for the day because it holds us together. Though it’s the 1st thing on Paul’s list, it holds all of the other pieces of armor in check. TRUTH is that “armor checker”! Jesus told His followers that, “you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32 Of Himself Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6 Being held together by truth, ABSOLUTE TRUTH, is a game-changer! We’re much more confident & secure going into battle! God’s belt of truth not only helps protects our core, (the core of what we believe), but it secures the other pieces of armor together and to us as well!

Remain in the Truth! Don’t get swayed away by the conterfiet half-truths of the enemy. Stay in God’s word so that His Truth will be our hearts when it’s time to do battle!
