“My heart is moved by a noble theme as I recite my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer. You are the most handsome of men; grace flows from your lips. Therefore God has blessed you forever. Mighty warrior, strap your sword at your side. In your majesty and splendor — in your splendor ride triumphantly in the cause of truth, humility, and justice. May your right hand show your awe-inspiring acts. Your throne, God, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of justice. I will cause your name to be remembered for all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you forever and ever.” Psalms 45:1-4, 6, 17
Psalm 45, authored by the Sons of Korah, is entitled “A Royal Wedding Song” with the instructions that it be sung to the popular tune, “the lilies” (also the tune for Psalms 60, 69 & 80). Written for royalty, it’s often regarded as a type or a picture into the royal wedding between, Jesus, the Conquoring Hero of the Bible & His Bride, the Purified Church (Revelation 19 &21)!
The description of the King, the Groom is amazing!
•the Most Handsome of Men
•Grace (mercy articulated) flowing from His lips
•Blessed by God forever
•Mighty Warrior-sword strapped at His side
•in Majesty and splendor, riding in triumphantly (white horse)
•He rides in the name of truth, humility & justice
•His right hand shows His miraculas works
•His throne is eternal
•His sceptor is one of justice
God says (in speaking of King Jesus) “I will cause Your Name to be remembered for all generations; therefore the peoples will praise you forever & ever.”
What a picture of a Majestic King!
Philippians 2:10-11 says that on that grand wedding day that, “so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow — of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth — and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
We don’t have to wait for that day-we can bow before King Jesus today!
Think about it!
